Sun Up Sun Down - Elcid Asaei

'Sun up Sun down' is a supernatural drama and poetic tribute to loss, love, and undying memory. When Maria visits her older sister's bedroom to remember the last time they had spent together before she died, she recalls a cherished moment between them, that is more real than she could have ever imagined.

A short film by Elcid Asaei, director based in London.

Elcid Asaei Elcid is a self-taught and award winning director, writer and editor. His films crossover experimental and narrative genres, ranging socially-orientated, bold and thought-provoking subject matters. Passionate about visual storytelling, Elcid followed an MA in Film Theory at UCL with a spell in online journalism and photography, before making his filmmaking debut with the short documentary, 'Revolutionary Roads' (2010), which premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest and went on to win Current TV’s Short Cuts prize. Elcid has since gone on to create a number of visually striking shorts, from ‘PIRANHA’ (2014) to ‘UNSKIN’ (2018), with each project successively more ambitious. In response to the Covid-19 lockdowns, Elcid created a global arts community video diary for creatives to share their voices with each other, and ‘We Are Not Alone’, is shaping up to be a historical and cultural record of the crisis. Elcid also went on to write and direct ‘Lost for Words’, a dramedy short film inspired by and set during the pandemic.
