Congratulations to the winners!
The Indie Clips Short Film Festival is a festival promoting student and emerging filmmakers by showcasing their short films and offering them educational, promotional and networking opportunities.
This year, the Indie Clips Short Film Festival received many submissions from talented, beginning filmmakers... And now is the time to recap and congratulate the winners of our 2022 edition!
7 categories, 7 winners:
1. Best Short Film
Protected directed by Tom Chambers
Synopsis: Matthew, a lonely market research analyst at Fortress Condoms LTD, dreams of having an intimate relationship. One day a new girl, Eva, joins the office, catching Matthew's eye. He tries to change his life and connect with Eva, but making his dreams a reality proves more difficult than he thought.
2. Best Short Documentary
Seeds of the Desert by Emma Stockwielder
Synopsis: Meet Mohammed Aissaoui, owner of "MyFarm Dubai", a biodynamic farm in the boiling desert of Dubai. Besides creating a high quality food in a 100% sustainable way, it's his mission to share his knowledge with as many people as possible and Dubai is, according to Mohammed, the perfect place.
Seeds of the Desert is a tribute to his work and his beliefs. Fully produced, filmed and edited by Emma Stockwieleder as her first ever film.
3. Best Cinematography
Photo Studio on the Corner - Directed by Laura Salagnac
Cinematography by Luyuan Zhao and Xuan Zhou
Synopsis: Chloe, grieving over the death of her mother, travels to London to visit her grandmother, who she has not seen for many years. With the help of an aged family photo album the pair slip into surreal visions of the past, reliving bittersweet moments of their lives.
4. Best Actor
Dylan Hall in #3099 - Directed by Xiao Jiao
Synopsis: A heartfelt comedy-drama following a quirky and ever curious donor child called Rick, who is slowly starting to comprehend the method of his conception, motivating him to embark on a mission of finding his biological father.
5. Best Actress
Nuala Walsh in Photo Studio on the Corner - Directed by Laura Salagnac
Synopsis: Chloe, grieving over the death of her mother, travels to London to visit her grandmother, who she has not seen for many years. With the help of an aged family photo album the pair slip into surreal visions of the past, reliving bittersweet moments of their lives.
6. Best Professional Short Film
Finding Wilson - Directed by Emily M. Smith
Synopsis: A young girl's life is changed forever when she meets a stranger in a quiet, woodland clearing.
7. Best Original Soundtrack
THEYSUCK - Composed by Jordan Paul Rousseau
We will also not forget to mention our winner of Best Pitch for our 2022 competition: Michelangelo Torres with his pitch for the short documentary "Analog Stories"!
This year, the winners of every category were offered special prizes such as free memberships to film-related services, professional feedback, a special interview and 1:1 tutorials with industry professionals!
