A Quick Chat with Indie Star Phil Hersh
Phil Hersh in "Laced"

From South Florida to Los Angeles and all in between, Phil Hersh has remained intimately involved with acting in Indie films. With his diverse roles and a special talent for voiceover, Hersh has become his own Indie brand. His latest indie short Lace: When the Music Stops comes with an important, potentially life-saving message. Here’s my brief e-chat with Phil.

What’s best about acting in an indie film?

It has its challenges but it feels more cohesive & everyone knows their role. Sometimes, you end up wearing multiple hats depending on the production.

What’s a role you have played the most?

I usually get cast as a cop the most often.

Was acting your childhood passion?

Yes it was. I was inspired by Carol Burnett when I was a kid. Comedy is my preference but I equally get cast in dramas.

Have you used your acting skill in real life to resolve any conflict or make a difference?

Yes I have on more than one occasion. I've avoided infractions & saved money in the process. Thinking quickly on your feet has its distinct advantages.

Tell us a little about Lace: When the Music Stops. (is it a short film? Released? On what medium? Your role in it etc.?

Laced: When the Music Stops is a short film & currently being distributed within the Broward County School System targeting high school students. I played a teacher in the opening scene which really set the tempo of the film. The premiere of the film was well done! I'm hoping to hear more updates very soon.

Aside from acting, what are your other main interests in life?

Some of my interests outside of acting would be traveling & collecting coins.

What’s missing in today’s Hollywood productions that filmmakers could bring back from the 20th Century movies?

What's missing for me would be originality, creativity & films that contain values. Hollywood could be great again if they followed the basic golden rules for success.

Do you have a social media page or website for moviegoers to follow?
