Berlinale Co-Production Market: Find International Partners for Your Next Feature

Each year, around 20–25 promising feature film projects are selected for the Official Selection. The focus is on fiction features with strong artistic quality, international potential and a clear path toward financing and production. Selected projects benefit from tailored meetings designed to connect producers with partners who can help move their films forward.

To be eligible, projects should generally be feature-length fiction films at the financing stage, suitable for international co-production and still open to new partners. A completed script must be available ahead of the market, while the submitting production company should have recent experience in international co-production. Projects typically require a solid financing structure, with approximately 30% of the budget already secured, and budgets generally ranging from €1 million to €20 million.

Applicants are asked to submit an online application alongside supporting materials in English, including a treatment or detailed synopsis, a script excerpt, financing information and visual material such as a mood book, as well as examples of the director's previous work. Selection is based not only on artistic strength, but also on the project's production and financing strategy, international co-production potential and relevance to the producers and financiers attending the market.

For the 2027 edition, the current deadline for feature film projects is 16 September 2026. The Berlinale Co-Production Market will take place as part of the Berlinale and European Film Market in February 2027.
