Films for a Change: An Afternoon of Cinema and Reflection on Social Change
On Friday, October 24, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the public is invited to discover Films for a Change, an event that combines film screenings and an engaging debate on the role of cinema in driving social transformation. Get your ticket here!
A Landmark Venue for Cinema
The event will take place at Sabam, located at 41–43 Rue des Deux Églises in Brussels, a landmark of audiovisual creation in Belgium. Known for its commitment to artists and cultural production, this space provides the perfect setting to celebrate cinema as a force for social change.
A Warm Welcome
Starting at 2:00 PM, guests will be greeted with a welcome drink — an ideal moment to connect with fellow cinema enthusiasts and advocates of social change.
Screening of Socially Engaged Short Films
From 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, eight short films will be screened, each offering a unique perspective on social challenges and ways to build a more equitable and sustainable future. Each short film will be awarded prizes in recognition of its quality, including the Indie-Clips Original Interview, an official certificate… and we will also reveal the winner of the Graines de Cinéastes Award, presented by our partner and official judge this year, the association Graines de Cinéaste.
Roundtable: Redefining Cinema for Social Change
Starting at 4:45 PM, a roundtable will bring together social change specialists and the short film judges to discuss the essential question of cinema's impact on social transformation.
The discussion will continue until 5:30 PM, offering a moment of analysis and collective inspiration.
