In this Indie-Clips Original Interview, we sit and have a chat with line producer Max Neace about his directorial debut on his independent feature film SHIFT.
SHIFT is a Hitchcock-in-skinny-jeans offbeat thriller, inspired by Alfred’s own REAR WINDOW. We substitute a 1950s Greenwich Village apartment with a 1990s storage facility in Chicago.
After studying film in NYU, Max's teachers recommended him to move to L.A for more career opportunities, so that's what Max did. Hired as a personal assistant on some productions, Max quickly realised that he was meant to produce and took this direction in his career.
From the do's and the don'ts, the technical tips, the money-saving advice and the encouraging words taken directly from his experience, Max shares to us his learnings as a producer and as a director, explaining that on SHIFT, the biggest challenge for him was to switch from his producer hat to the director's hat, exploring many new challenges that involve directing a 90 minutes film.
SHIFT is available to watch on the streaming platform Tubi: https://tubitv.com/movies/100042372/shift
