Q&A with Junie Liv Thomasson

1. Grace is raised in a very isolated doomsday cult. What was the hardest part about stepping into her world?

Junie Liv: Probably the wardrobe. Wearing the period clothes every day was the hardest part for me.

2. Without giving away any spoilers, was there a particular scene in Grace of God that you’ll never forget filming?

Junie Liv: Definitely the lake scene. The water was freezing cold, and the bottom was really muddy, so filming it was much harder than it looks on screen!

3. You’ve been in several horror films already. Do fake blood, creepy makeup, and scary costumes still surprise you, or are they just a normal day at work now?

Junie Liv: They’re just a normal day at work now!

4. If you could spend one day on the set of any horror movie ever made, which one would you choose and why?

Junie Liv: I’d choose Pearl because I watched it recently, and I think it would have been so cool to be on that set. I love the time period and the whole atmosphere of the film.

5. After filming so many horror movies, what actually scares you in real life?

Junie Liv: The dark… especially the feeling that someone might be watching me in the dark.

6. You’re hosting the ultimate horror movie night. Which three horror films are you picking?

Junie Liv: Hereditary, Obsession, and Jennifer’s Body.

7. If Grace from Grace of God could meet another horror character, who do you think she’d get along with the most?

Junie Liv: Carrie. I think they’d understand each other because they’ve both grown up feeling isolated and different.

8. If you could play any horror villain or antihero for one day, who would you choose and why?

Junie Liv: I’d choose Jennifer from Jennifer’s Body because she’s such a badass, and it would be fun to play a character who gets revenge on all the bad guys.

9. What’s your favorite horror movie quote?

Junie Liv: We all float down here.”

10. You’ve already appeared in several horror films at such a young age. What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an actress so far?

Junie Liv: Patience and hard work. Acting is a lot more than just running or looking scared.

11. Is there a dream role or type of character you’d love to play in the future, even if it’s outside of horror?

Junie Liv: I’d love to be in a movie like Bones and All. It’s disturbing but also really beautiful, and I think those kinds of stories are so interesting.
