Work In Progress at Les Arcs: A Showcase for the Next Generation of European Films

At the heart of the Industry Village of Les Arcs Film Festival, the Work In Progress programme puts the spotlight on European film projects currently in production or post-production. This professional showcase gives works still in progress the opportunity to meet an audience of international sales agents, distributors and festival programmers.

For the 2026 edition, 12 European projects in post-production will be selected and presented during a dedicated session. The programme is open to feature-length fiction, animation and documentary films of at least 70 minutes, with predominantly European production.

A Showcase for European Films in Post-Production

The Work In Progress programme represents an important opportunity for teams looking to raise the profile of their project before it is completed. The footage presented gives industry professionals a first look at a film’s creative identity, visual universe and stage of development.

During the session, excerpts from each selected project are screened for an audience of international film professionals. The aim is to encourage meetings with international sales agents, distributors and festival programmers who may support the films throughout their future journey.

To apply, teams must provide several scenes from the film, with a minimum of 10 minutes of footage. A first assembly or rough cut can also be submitted. However, applicants are encouraged to prepare between 20 and 30 minutes of footage in order to present their project as effectively as possible. Videos must be subtitled in French or English when necessary and should feature actual scenes from the film: teasers are not accepted.

Awards to Support the Completion of Selected Projects

Beyond the professional showcase itself, the Work In Progress at Les Arcs offers selected projects the opportunity to receive several awards and forms of support.

The TITRAFILM Award provides €10,000 worth of image and sound post-production services. The 22D Award, also worth €10,000, supports the creation of an original score and includes editorial support for the project and its music.

Two new awards complete the programme in 2026. The Think Audience Award provides €10,000 worth of marketing services, while the Filmin Award offers a minimum guarantee of €15,000 in exchange for non-exclusive SVOD rights in Spain and Portugal for three years.

A Professional Springboard for European Cinema

The Work In Progress programme is part of the broader mission of the Industry Village at Les Arcs Film Festival: creating a space where European film projects can connect with key players from the international film industry.

Selected projects must be presented for the first time as part of a Work In Progress session and must not yet be represented by an international sales agent. A dedicated partnership with TorinoFilmLab also enables a former participant in one of its programmes to join the selection, provided the project meets the relevant criteria.

For the 2026 edition, applications are open until October 14, and submissions must be made in English. The Work In Progress offers European film teams an opportunity to showcase their work to international industry professionals while gaining access to new opportunities to support their projects through completion and distribution.
